The main thrust of my paintings is Hard Edged Geometric Abstraction.
They are based on the ongoing traditions of 20th Century Abstraction. They connect with the Concrete Art Movement (1930-1950’s) which developed out of the German Bauhaus School of Design, and also the Systemic artists of the 1960’s and the works of the American Abstract Expressionists, including the Colour Field artists.
I use mathematics as a way of achieving compositional harmony out a logical system of spacial calculations, using repetition and division. I am passionate about colour variants, they play a major role and are the pulse of my paintings.
I have recently exhibited with Flowers Gallery in London (2023) in their exhibition ‘Hidden U.K. Hidden Ireland’, the exhibition was curated and selected by Sean Scully.
I exhibited in 2024 in Miami with the Azur Gallery, and in 2023 at The Paris Contemporary Art Fair in Paris and in Madrid with the Van Gogh Gallery.
I have developed much global experience, working across Europe and Brazil ( at the British Consulate in São Paulo), in both galleries and public spaces. I have work in private, Corporate and University collections.

Avoiding picture postcard moments where possible, Katharine is drawn to structures, often abandoned and decaying, depicting how they inhabit the landscape around them. Working from memory and photographic references, the process of applying layers of paint, scraping back, obliteration, allows the painting to take its own fluid course giving it a life of its own. Although firmly rooted in representation Katharine’s work embodies an abstract drama which points beyond visual representation and towards the essence of her subject matter.
Following a recent residency, this particular body of work is about nostalgia. The 100 year old Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium was demolished in 2018 making way for local regeneration and Katharine spent the year documenting it. Deconstructing the images through painterly abstraction captures the frailty of the structures, bridging the gap between past and present.

Monica’s practice focuses on the exploration of the relationship between forms, space and nature. Working with very earthy material is her way to feel grounded and connected to this ever-changing world. Her discoveries are often embodied within thrown and handbuilt objects. Through firing, glazing and eventually in their functional setting, viewers often find the aesthetics of her work reflecting and embracing the beauty of nature, the change of seasons, mindfulness, and circles of life as visual poetry.
Having lived in China, New Zealand, Australia, the US and recently relocated to the UK, Monica’s creative process has always been heavily influenced by different culture, natural environment and ways of living. Monica has exhibited her ceramic works in group shows and solo exhibitions across the United States and New Zealand. Her work is in many private collections. By bridging East and West in her artistic journey, she invites users to interact with her work on a daily basis and find resonance in their unique ways.

Monika's artistic practice is inspired from her upbringing in the Czech Republic, where she was surrounded by nature. This developed a deep understanding and appreciation for the natural world.
Having since moving to London, Monika now seeks out enchanting and wild places of beauty to inform her practice. Exploration through world travel and hiking enables Monika to explore nature at its richest.
Using oil, acrylic and pastels on board, canvas and paper, Monika captures the integrity and nuanced environments that she finds herself immersed in.
