Mike Best is a Canadian photographer, filmmaker and creative technologist. He has been based in London since 1998.

Mike works in a range of both analogue and digital media. His primary interest lies in exploring our relationship to the physical spaces that surround us. He is fascinated by how our personal narratives are intrinsically intertwined with the environmental context in which we find ourselves.

He loves photographing people in-situ, often caught up in a so-called 'flow-state', while engaged in work, play, sports, prayer or acts of creativity. This extends not just to his approach to his subjects, but also to himself as an explorer immersed in the act of observing the world around him.

Recently his emphasis has been on revisiting his roots in traditional film photography, and is currently working on a series of short videos on the subject.

While not working on his films or photography, Mike works as a freelance 3d artist in the games and visual effects industries.
